Dogs and cats may not run at large in The Village.
Rabies vaccination is required each year for both dogs and cats. 3 Year Vaccinations
are allowed.
Annual animal licenses ARE NOT REQUIRED,
Residents may not possess, keep or harbor more than four (4) dogs or cats (or any
combination thereof) that are over six (6) months of age.
All domesticated animals, other than dogs and cats, must be kept indoors.
It is unlawful to keep bees in The Village.
It is unlawful to keep, possess or harbor any vicious animal in The Village.
It is unlawful for any animal to defecate on public or private property unless the
defecation is promptly and properly removed and disposed of by the owner of the animal
Impounded animals will be held for a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours.
No person shall own, possess, keep, or harbor any dog, which by loud and frequent
barking, howling, or yelping, causes annoyance or disturbance to any residents of
the city.
FEES & FINES:
$50.00 Impoundment Fee.
$15.00 Per day for each animal kept in pound.
Up to $200.00 Per day fine for violation of city animal ordinances.
VICIOUS & POTENTIALLY VICIOUS ANIMALS - The City of The Village has adopted strict regulations to deal with threats posed by agressive animals. The regulations were enacted by Ordinance 607, which defines what constitues a "viscious animal" as opposed to what constitutes a "potentially viscious animal". The ordinance provides a legal process for dealing with the animal once it has been determined if it is "viscious" or "potentially viscious".
